Oregon State University researchers discover that hemp can prevent the COVID virus
CBDa and CBGa (compounds found in hemp) are shown to effectively protect against the 2 most widespread strains of Covid-19.
Researchers from Oregon State University have released data showing how these cannabis compounds bind to the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, blocking the virus from infecting people.
“These compounds can be taken orally and have a long history of safe use in humans,” said Richard van Breemen, a researcher with Oregon State’s Global Hemp Innovation Center. “They have the potential to prevent as well as treat infection by SARS-CoV-2”.
